My name is Alexandra Dayrit. I am an aspiring Photojournalist and Photographer. I am currently a second-year student at SAIT enrolled in the PhotoJournalism program. I have loved taking photos for a number of years now and have recently discovered a love for feature writing and creating magazine layouts. I was born and raised in Calgary, Alta and have lived in Calgary all my life. But, I have always wanted to travel and live somewhere else other than Calgary and experience what other cities may have to offer.
I am currently a photo and writer contributor to Mabuhay Calgary, a free local newspaper that is distributed monthly and is solely based on the Filipino community. I started contributing work to them in March 2012.
As part of my photojournalism program at SAIT Polytechnic I’m required to go out on an internship and I am currently doing work for Fashionsign Ezine. I’ve been photographing local fashion events and creating blog posts and layouts.
I shoot with a Nikon D7000. My favourite lens to shoot is would probably be my Nikkor 50mm f/2.8. Definitely my favourite, for now.
